Story of the origin of Maa Chintapurni Devi

According to Durga Saptashati and Goddess Mahatyamay, there was a hundred years of war between the gods and the asuras in which the asuras won.
Mahisasura, the king of the asuras, became the king of heaven and the gods began to roam the earth like ordinary humans.

The gods were greatly tortured by the Asuras. The gods discussed this subject among themselves and they went to Lord Vishnu to get rid of this problem.

Lord Vishnu asked him to worship the goddess. Then the Gods asked her which goddess she would take care of our sufferings.
As a result of this plan, a divine light appeared from inside the three trinity, Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh, which was transformed into a woman upon seeing.

All the Gods and Goddesses gave some form to this Goddess. Lord Shankar provided the lion, Lord Vishnu the lotus, Indra the bell, the sea gave the never-ending garland.

After this, all the Gods worshiped the Goddess so that the Goddess was pleased and her sufferings could be relieved. And the same thing happened.

The goddess pleased and gave a boon to the gods and said, I will definitely protect you. As a result, the goddess started a war with Mahishasura.

In whicAh the goddess was conquered and since then the name of the goddess has been named Mahishasura Mardani.

According to Legend :-

There are a total of 51  Shaktipeeths in  India. All of which have the same story of origin. All these temples are connected with Shiva and Shakti.

According to religious, the goddess had fallen limbs at all these places.

Lord Shiva’s father-in-law King  Daksha conducted a yajna in which he did not invite  lord Shiva and Sati as he did not consider Shiva as his equal. Sati found it very bad.

She reached the yagna without invitation . Where Shiva was greatly insulted.Sati could not bear it and she jumped into the Havan Kund.

When Lord Shankar came to know about this, he came and removed Sati’s body from Havan Kund and started doing Tandava.

Because of which there was an outcry in the whole universe. To save the entire universe from this crisis, Lord Vishnu divided Sati’s body into 51 parts from his Sudarshan Chakra. The organ where it fell became the Shakti Peetha.

It is believed that Mata Sati’s feet fell in Chintpurni. She is also called Chhinmashtika Devi. Chintpurni Devi Temple has four temples and Lord Shankar’s temple.
